From the Doctor's stand point, I truly think that they are inundated with " miracles cures" on a daily basis, also from Pharmaceutical representatives selling the newest medication, the dozen of medical journals they receive each month, as well as practitioners doing the impossible to try to woo referrals their way, it is difficult for your Doctor keep up with all of this.
It is my belief that when they send you to physical therapy, Physician Specialist, massage therapy ( if they care to send you to the Massage Therapist), OTC etc. They are assuming that you will be receiving whatever treatments are best suited for your condition & recovery. When you return with stories of great success or not so successful stories, they simply may chalk it up to your condition, paying little attention to the modality that was used by the practitioner and this is not to give a passing grade to the Doctor in determine what might best help you. The shocking truth is that many patients/clients have discover that Manual Therapy for the Breast Tissue when performed by a highly trained Massage Therapist, can produce dramatic results than most of the invasive treatment prescribes by their Physicians.
Another point of dispute is the belief that there is a lack of research supporting Manual Therapy for the Breast Tissue as a viable therapeutic modality. On my website: www.precisetouchoutsidethebox.com I have posted articles, statements, and testimonial showing the effectiveness of Manual Therapy for the Breast Tissue along with the legitimate reasons why YOU ( the client) should received this kind of therapy. Also, if they (Physician(s)) had heard of Manual Therapy for the Breast Tissue in the past, it may have been connected with tales of so-called "happy endings, groaning" that the Physicians realized was out of the scope of practice for the Therapist. Another myth is that Massage Therapist can't perform this type of therapy, fortunately in Texas it can be done at the client(s) request only follow by signing the respective consent form provided when this situation(s) arise. The client can't request Breat tissue Therapy if she hasn't been educated on this matter.
Part of the AWARENESS that Doctors must have should come from YOU, the recepient of Manual Therapy for the Breast Tissue. Make them aware of your results. Remind them of all the other things you have tried with limited results or not results at all in most cases. Encourage them to check out my website. And don't keep it in secret tell some body; just tell your friends.
